Six Rivers National Forest

Campfire and fire-use rules for this area, with each localized order the land manager has published.

Campfires only in developed sites.

Developed sites

Forest Order 10-26-05 is in effect through November 16, 2026 and prohibits building, maintaining, attending, or using a fire, campfire, or stove fire except in Wilderness areas, Designated Fire Safe Sites, or within stoves, charcoal grills, or fire rings in Developed Recreation Sites listed in Exhibit A. The order is unstaged and forest-wide, so status is partial. Campfires are allowed only in those named places. Stoves and charcoal grills are allowed only in Developed Recreation Sites. Persons with a valid California Campfire Permit may use a portable propane campfire pit, stove, or lantern with a shut-off valve at least three feet from flammable materials, but are not otherwise exempt.
