Fire restrictionsFlorida
Dry Tortugas National Park
Campfire and fire-use rules for this area, with each localized order the land manager has published.
Campfires only in developed sites.
Developed sitesThe 2026 Superintendent's Compendium prohibits ground fires and wood fires throughout the park. Charcoal fires, sterno, and gas/propane camp stove fires are permitted only in the Garden Key Campground, and open fires may be built only in grills within the Garden Key camping area or on a private vessel at the owner's discretion. This is a standing, unstaged park-wide rule with no stated dates, so the status is partial.

Before you go
We track each forest's orders and alerts. Every rule links to its source. Rules change fast in fire season, so check with the forest before your trip. Posted signs and official orders always win.
