Developed sites

The 2026 Superintendent's Compendium fire provisions (36 CFR 2.13) allow open fires only in provided or portable grills at Long Pine Key picnic areas, Long Pine Key Campground and Flamingo Campground, and ground fires only below the storm surge line at listed beach campsites. Outside those areas, except boats and park residences, cooking and heating must use devices that will not produce a spark, and wood, charcoal, or coal fueled grills or stoves are not permitted. The supplied text states no temporary park-wide fire ban, stage, or fire danger level.
