Campfires only in developed sites.

Developed sites

The Superintendents Compendium (signed January 2026) sets 36 CFR 2.13(a)(1) fire rules: fires are permitted only within NPS designated and installed fire rings at listed campgrounds and locations, regardless of season. Campfires on the Jackson Lake shoreline are listed as prohibited, with a permit exception for the west shoreline when high water is below 6,772 feet. Open wood campfires are permitted on the frozen surface of Jackson Lake, but charcoal is not. The text contains no dated seasonal or stage order and no stove rules.
