Bring your saved places, tracks, and routes into Glassing with a GPX file.

You can bring your saved places, tracks, and routes from Goat Maps into Glassing as a GPX file. Review what to import and how to organize it before adding anything to your library.

Bring over your saved places

Goat's export guide, checked on September 9, 2026, describes exporting an item: open My Data, select the item, and tap Export at the top. This opens the iPhone share sheet with a GPX file.

The initial My Data view shows only recent items. Use All for each type to find older waypoints, tracks, and routes, as described in Goat's data guide.

The published export guide does not describe an export-all command. If you already have a GPX containing several items, Glassing can read it; otherwise, repeat the export for the items you want to bring over. Keep the files until you've checked what arrived.

Open the file in Glassing from the share sheet. If you saved it in Files, open Glassing, tap the Glassing logo, then Import a file.

The import preview shows the places, tracks, and routes in the file. Choose the items you want and check which trip they will go into. Tap Import when you're ready. Until then, your library stays unchanged.

Check trips and symbols

Glassing can suggest trips based on where and when you saved your items. Check those suggestions before importing. You can choose an existing trip or make a new one instead. You can also move items between trips later. Trips and saved items explains how.

Likely duplicates start unchecked. Glassing compares locations and recorded or drawn lines, not names. Leave those items unchecked unless you want another copy.

Glassing keeps the symbols included in the file. For waypoints without a symbol, it can suggest one from the name. Check the suggestions before importing.

Add photos separately

Photos do not come over in the GPX file. If you have them in your photo library, open the matching waypoint in Glassing and tap Add to attach them. See Waypoints and photos.

Get ready for your next trip

You don't need an account to use Glassing. Sign in if you want your saved places, tracks, routes, and photos to sync between devices.

Every map layer is free to view. A subscription lets you save waypoints, record tracks, and download and update maps. Downloaded maps stay usable after your subscription ends, and exporting your waypoints, routes, and tracks as GPX stays free. See Account, sync, and support for the details.
