Share a link

Send a waypoint, route, track, or trip as a link, and take it back.

A share link opens one waypoint, route, track, or trip for whoever has it. They can open it without Glassing or an account.

Open a waypoint, route, or track and tap Share. For a trip, open the trip's action menu and choose Share. Pick how long the link lasts: 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, or Forever. The share sheet opens with the link and a picture of what you're sharing.

The picture shows only what you're sharing. Your location and your other places stay off it.

A trip's link carries the places, routes, and tracks filed under it when you make the link. Its photos stay private.

Making a link takes signal, an account, and a subscription. With no signal, Export GPX takes Share's place, so you can still send a GPX file by AirDrop.

A waypoint, route, or track with a live link says so under Share, and a trip says so under Show on map, with the time the link has left. Tap that line to copy the link, send it again, or revoke it. A revoked link stops working right away.

Settings → Shared Links lists every live link on your account, including links made on glassing.app. Swipe left to revoke one. Listing and revoking links are always free.

With Glassing on your phone, a shared link opens in the app. The waypoint, route, or track appears on your map with Save, and nothing is added to your library until you tap it. The copy you save is yours. Later changes by the sender don't reach it.

A trip's link opens the import preview, where you choose what to keep. If some of the trip was deleted since the link was made, the preview says how much of it is shown.

Without Glassing, the link opens a page on glassing.app with the map, the notes, and a GPX download.

A link that has expired or been revoked doesn't open. Ask whoever sent it for a new one.
